AdvaMed Names Board Chair of its Medical Imaging Division

Rich Fabian will succeed inaugural board chair David Pacitti.

AdvaMed, the Medtech Association, has found a new leader for its Medical Imaging division’s Board of Directors.

FUJIFILM Sonosite Inc. President/CEO Rich Fabian has been chosen to succeed inaugural board chair David Pacitti, CEO of Avanos Medical and former president/head of the Americas at Siemens Healthineers

“Rich is a highly effective and passionate advocate for medtech, having served as the vice chair of the AdvaMed Medical Imaging board of directors and interim chair since last spring,” AdvaMed President/CEO Scott Whitaker said. “Thank you to Dave Pacitti for his years of service to the Medical Imaging division board. We look forward to continuing to work alongside Rich to ensure that AI and other innovations in medical imaging accelerate our member companies’ ability to deliver essential value to patients by improving outcomes and saving money by informing the right course of treatment.”

Fabian joined FUJIFILM Sonosite in January 2017, having accrued more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience at that point. As president/CEO, Fabian leads all aspects of the company’s global business. Before joining FUJIFILM Sonosite, he worked for Philips Healthcare for 15 years in various executive leadership roles, including vice president of Sales and Marketing for North America; vice president and general manager of a global business unit; and vice president of Marketing for Imaging Systems. Fabian built high-performing teams that consistently delivered strong business results.

Fabian earned his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Graduate School of Business and a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of Michigan.

“It’s an honor to be elected chair of AdvaMed’s Medical Imaging division board,” Fabian stated. “I look forward to working with industry leaders to elevate the critical role medical imaging plays in improving patient outcomes and reducing overall health care costs. As innovation accelerates, through AI and other important breakthroughs in imaging technology, this is an exciting time to champion the value our field brings to patient care.”

“On behalf of AdvaMed and all its members, we thank Dave Pacitti for his service as the inaugural chair of the Medical Imaging division board and extend a warm welcome to Rich Fabian as we continue advocating for policies that support medical imaging and bring value to patients and providers,” concluded Patrick Hope, the Medical Imaging division’s executive director.

Announced in December 2023, the AdvaMed Medical Imaging division advocates for large and small companies on the role of medical imaging technology, radiopharmaceuticals, contrast media, and focused ultrasound devices in the U.S. healthcare system. With the creation of the Medical Imaging division and the Digital Health Tech division, also in 2023, AdvaMed represents the entire ecosystem of the medtech, digital health tech, and medical imaging companies providing high tech, interconnected solutions to serve patients.
